Meet Roy Reid, 2015 Dave McMillen Award Winner

In his more than 15 years with AES, Dave McMillen played a vital role in developing many of our core leadership principles. He personally helped develop many of our AES leaders of today. In his memory, we established the Dave McMillen Award and recognize an individual who embodies Dave's commitment to excellence in leadership.

Our Dave McMillen award this year comes from the Europe SBU. Most recently serving as the COO for AES Bulgaria, Roy Reid is known as the father of AES Galabovo. ALWAYS ON FOR SAFETY
Fabio Calvo is Always On for Safety

Fabio is a Reading, Delivery, and Connection Coordinator at AES Sul, a distribution company in the Brazil SBU.  He knows the importance of developing a safety culture among his peers through training and uses his skills and knowledge to teach others to be always on for safety.

In 2010, Fabio coordinated a formal process to introduce AES' safety culture to 300 reading and delivery contractors at AES Sul. "Many of the people had no experience in the industry or the activity that they were about to perform," explains Fabio. The process included training courses and monthly follow-up of safety KPIs. Fabio and his team practiced AES safety principles and beliefs on a daily basis. As a result of this effort, the site had no workplace incidents for two years.
