Greetings!
Every year, we take the opportunity to recognize our people who set themselves apart with our highest honors, the AES Global Awards. The awards honor people who have had the biggest impact in the areas most important to us. Our 2015 winners will join our past honorees that have made notable contributions to shaping AES into the company it is today. Nominations for our 2015 Global Awards are now open. Click here for more details about the criteria for each award and here for this year's nomination form.
Nominations for our 2015 awards will be accepted through December 23, 2015. Once completed, nomination forms should be submitted to Adrienne Behmke. Our 2015 Global Award winners will be announced in early 2016.

Taking our HR performance to the next level with Workday
Our people energize AES which is why we aim to help you develop to your fullest potential. In support of that goal and as we execute on our plans to position AES for the future, members of the AES Global Human Resources and Internal Communications group have been hard at work to build a global, sustainable approach for how Human Resources interacts with and supports the broader AES organization by unifying our programs and offerings. You may have heard these efforts referred to as HR Performance².

AES Chivor receives Speedy award
Congratulations to the AES Chivor team in Colombia, part of the Andes SBU, for receiving this quarter's Speedy award. By raising the height of a spill gateway with an investment of US $1.5M, AES Chivor was able to increase its generation capacity and potentially grow revenue an estimated US $2M to $6M per year. At AES Chivor, La Esmeralda reservoir has a capacity of 587 million cubic meter defined by the maximum peak of radial gate level at 1,277 meters above sea level. The operation of the reservoir maintains a water level that ensures a safe operation for the community downstream during rainy season and floods. During unusually high inflows, spillage is inevitable. Chivor must open the gates for flood control in these cases. Increasing the reservoir level by raising the height of the spill gates allows the storage of an additional 13 million cubic meters of water.
