AES Andes receives great place to work recognition

Our people are our energy, which is why being recognized as a great place to work is so important for us. In the Andes SBU, two businesses recently received great place to work recognitions. AES Argentina was recognized as number 17 on the Great Place to Work ranking in Argentina in the 251-1000 employees category and was the only power generation company to make the list. AES Gener also climbed 24 places to number 21 on the list of Best 50 Companies to Work for in Chile. AES Gener was the only power generation company included in the ranking. Both recognitions were from the Great Place to Work Institute.

AES Brazil recognized as an innovative company

AES Brazil recently received two innovation awards. The first recognition was from Best Innovator which honored AES Brazil as the fifth most innovative company in Brazil. This award is the most reputable innovation award in Brazil. AES Brazil also received a Fierce Innovation Award: Energy Edition, an international award from FierceMarkets with judges from US energy companies. AES earned the award in the Outage Management Services category for the AES Eletropaulo project, Software for Tree Pruning Optimization. Congratulations to the AES Brazil team on their achievements.  
AMCHAM acknowledges AES Dominicana for its CSR practices
 
AES Dominicana was awarded first place in the Quality of Life category during the 2015 Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Practices Awards coordinated by the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). The award was given to AES Dominicana for promoting a healthy, safe and inclusive working environment in which people can grow both personally and professionally. AES Dominicana promotes a healthy work life balance through their Quality of Life and Wellbeing program. According to Edwin De los Santos, Market Business Leader, "This prestigious award from AMCHAM highlights our commitment to be a great place to work."

Building stakeholder relationships with visit to AES Andres

Recently, the AES Colón team from Panama, part of the MCAC SBU, visited the AES Andres facility in the Dominican Republic along with 12 journalists. The team and media went to the Dominican Republic  to tour the AES Andres facility and learn more about the natural gas technology AES will soon bring to Panama. AES Andres is similar to the AES facility that will be built in Panama and serves as representation of the benefits of a natural gas facility to the province of Colón and for the entire country. During their stay, AES people and reporters visited the facilities, interviewed AES Andres leaders, and also admired the beauty and charm of the island. With this visit, AES was able to highlight how best practices can be replicated and leveraged as a competitive advantage.

Mario Fedeli is Always On for Safety 
Mario is the Lead Engineer for the Eagle Valley CCGT construction project in Martinsville, Indiana.  Although Mario is fairly new to AES, he embraces our Values and makes safety his way of life. His personal safety beliefs are one of the reasons he is a good fit for his role at Eagle Valley. Mario joined the construction management team in September of last year to coordinate the design review, assist in construction oversight and lead commissioning, among other responsibilities.
