Working as one global team to make AES an even stronger company
Thanks to your efforts, AES is in a much stronger position today than it was when we laid out our strategy four years ago. We just completed the first month without an AES person, operational contractor or construction contractor Lost Time Incident in 10 years. We are increasing the supply of safe, reliable and sustainable electricity with 5,782 MW in construction in Chile, India, the Dominican Republic and the US. Over the last two years, we've been recognized in 10 markets for being a great place to work. We've been ranked on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America for two years in a row. For our shareholders, we have enhanced returns by initiating and growing our dividend, repurchasing stock and paying down US $1.5 billion in debt. We should all feel proud of what we've accomplished together, making AES a stronger and more resilient company.

AES Servicios América supports additional AES businesses
Earlier this year, AES Servicios América (ASA), our shared service center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, incorporated the financial operations from US generation, Arlington, Mexico and Puerto Rico that were previously outsourced. The migration process took six months and required detailed planning and collaboration to perform a smooth transition from the previous supplier to the ASA. The service center in Buenos Aires was created in 2013, and started its operations supporting the Andes SBU for finance related processes. With the migration completed, ASA is providing financial services to AES businesses in six countries within three SBUs. Luciano Barquin, the Project Leader for AES Servicios América, shared, "The migration process was very challenging and required strong collaboration between the deployment team and our operational people who provide services to other SBUs. The global support from all areas of the company was very important. For example, HR helped with the recruiting process, while IT helped set up equipment and functional experts provided SAP support."

AES reaches the finals of the British Quality Foundation Awards
Continuous improvement is embedded in the way we work. When we utilize APEX methodologies and tools, we can find a better way of doing things. AES UK and Ireland utilized APEX tools for the project, Ballylumford Water Treatment Plant Cost Reduction, and were shortlisted as a finalist for the British Quality Foundation's Lean Six Sigma Awards. The annual British Quality Awards recognizes projects for exceptional performance and achievement. The awards ceremony, held last month in London, was attended by project representatives Aaron McClean and Peter Mitchell. Aaron noted, "Reaching the finalist stage demonstrates that AES has great internal initiatives such as APEX that provide methodologies and tools for process improvements that allow us to compete globally."

First woman to work in operations at Guacolda
Collectively, our workforce is comprised of individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures and disciplines. As a result of this diversity, we do not view diversity simply as a responsibility to be met, a policy to implement, benefits to offer or a program to run. Instead, we leverage our diversity and integrate it into how we work and how we compete to win in the global marketplace. Guacolda, a 608 MW plant in the Andes SBU, celebrated a diversity milestone with the hiring of Jasmín Peña Soto as its first female in a field operator position. While Guacolda's staff includes technical and professional women in administration, communications, mechanical, electricity, planning, chemical and environmental areas, Jasmín is the first woman to work in operations.
