LEADERSHIP MATTERS

Monthly Safety Leadership Message from Ken Zagzebski

As Bernerd mentioned in his COO safety message last month, our operational leadership is going to take turns this year sharing their perspectives on safety with you. You'll hear from a different leader each month and it's my honor to be the first to share my thoughts on our first Value, Safety.

Our five shared Values provide guidance for the decisions we make and how we act. Each AES person has the responsibility to live up to our Values including putting safety first. Every AES person, regardless of what their role is, must personally believe that safety is first. When it comes to acting safety, it is not because we are told to do something by others, but because every person believes in it and takes ownership for safety. Owning safety is a mindset. You treat safety as part of everything you do and make the right choices which are the safe choices. It also means that you not only know our four safety beliefs, but also put them into practice.
