AES announces strategic partnership for its business in Jordan

Strategic partnerships create more value for our shareholders and allow us to bring affordable, sustainable and reliable energy solutions to the markets in which we serve. AES, through one of its subsidiaries, recently announced a strategic partnership with Qatari shareholding company, Nebras Power. Under the agreement, Nebras Power will acquire 40% in AES Jordan's IPP4 power plant. Currently, AES owns a 60% holding in the 241 MW project while Mitsui & Co. of Japan owns the remaining 40% stake. The announcement came at a meeting earlier this week attended jointly by Julian Nebreda, AES Europe SBU President, and Khalid Mohammed al-Jolo, Nebras Power CEO.

Meet Amory Host, AES Distributed Energy President

The energy industry is changing fast with increasing options available to our customers and a drive towards market integration. These changes could impact how we do business and the very nature of our competitive landscape. We're already seeing these changes play out in the US as more consumers adopt distributed generation solutions. There's great opportunity in this space for companies that understand distributed generation solutions and how the market works. To speed our entry into this market, we recently acquired Main Street Power Company and renamed them AES Distributed Energy. Since its formation in 2009, AES Distributed Energy has proven they have the skills to succeed in this area. In an interview with the Spotlight, Amory Host, AES Distributed Energy President, discusses AES Distributed Energy's history and its path for the future as it helps AES deliver on its mission.
