Meet Martin Genesio, 2014 AES Values Award winner

 

Our Values are foundational and our people and businesses around the world are guided by our five shared Values. As a values-based company, the Values Award recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond to exhibit the Values in how they work. Martin Genesio, COO of AES Argentina in the Andes SBU, was the recipient of this year's award. Martin's efforts span our five Values while providing significant contributions to our financial and operational results in Argentina.
    

AES Argentina wins Replicability Award at the 2014 APEX Global Awards

 

At this year's 2014 APEX Global Awards, a new award was established to recognize projects that could be easily leveraged and replicated by others businesses at AES. AES Argentina, part of the Andes SBU, earned a Replicability Award for its project, Mitigation of Ambient Temperature Effect on a Combined Cycle Power Output.

The more we diversify capital, the faster we can grow. If we build with just our own money, we grow slower and may lose our market advantage. Instead, if we build with capital partners and continue to be the operator, we can extend our market leadership and increase our value, and we can do it fast. Overall, our current partners can be placed in three broad categories; local, international and institutional.

Walter Soares, Operations Technician at AES Tietê, part of the Brazil SBU, thinks about this statement before he comes to work every day. He has been with AES Tietê for 16 years and he has never suffered a serious incident. Walter contributes his personal safety record to AES' safety culture and our commitment to put safety first.

Improving lives in Dayton, Ohio for over a hundred years

  

While AES was founded in 1981, our businesses have been improving lives long before then. For example, Dayton Power and Light, located in Dayton and part of the US SBU, has been improving lives in the Midwest since 1911. In this week's #ThrowbackThursday picture, linemen with the Dayton Electric Light Company pose with their horse and buggy as they work to bring affordable and reliable electric service to Dayton.
