Meet Adriana Roccaro, 2014 AES Founders' Award winner

The AES Global Awards provides an opportunity for us to honor our people who have an extraordinary impact on our company. One of the awards presented is the Founders' Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This award is given to individuals across AES who demonstrated innovative spirit by identifying opportunities to improve how we do things, by finding new ways to address issues and, often, going above and beyond their responsibilities and commitments. One of this year's recipients of the Founders' Award is Adriana Roccaro.

INNOVATION AT WORK

AES Masinloc wins first place at the 2014 APEX Global Awards

At AES, our mission is to improve lives by providing safe, reliable and sustainable energy solutions in every market we serve. To be successful in our efforts, we must continue to improve the way we work and to strive for operational excellence. The 2014 APEX Awards were held last week in Dominican Republic. 15 projects led by teams from all six of Strategic Business Units (SBUs) had the opportunity to present the method, tools and success of their project. Each project was evaluated on its strategic alignment, business impact, delivering benefits and ability to leverage and replicate the project at other businesses and locations.

At AES, we pride ourselves in being part of and supporting our local communities. AES Panama has supported the local baseball team, The Bocas del Toro, since 2007. This year, the team honored AES Panama with their first home game for the 2015 season. Amed Machado, Nodier Shaik and Roy Rodriguez, part of the Changuinola I hydroelectric central team, did the honors of opening the game for a night of camaraderie among AES people.
