Over the last two years, we've aimed to inform, inspire and engage AES people around the world by providing timely, easy to read stories from AES businesses, locations and people around the world, once a week, straight into your Inbox. Here's a look back at some of the stories from 2014.
In August, more than 40 leaders from the Andes Strategic Business Unit (SBU) convened in Santiago, Chile, headquarter to the Andes SBU, to participate in the session "Spark 14: Taking it to the next level in Andes." During this two-day meeting, several important matters were discussed by senior and mid-level leaders from different areas and countries of SBU. The most important was, the AES culture survey, conducted by the third party Denison Consulting, and 2013 results for Andes.
AES Eletropaulo, part of the Brazil Strategic Business Unit SBU, recently announced new partnerships to expand in the company's smart grid project. AES Eletropaulo signed contracts with companies WEG, Siemens and ITRON to produce 62,000 smart meters, to be installed at houses in the city of Barueri, metropolitan area of São Paulo, in 2015. They also signed a contract with Cisco to work on a solution for the project's communication network.
US SBU people take holiday spirit to a giving level
Improving lives and making a lasting difference in the communities in which its businesses operate is the AES mission and a core part of the AES Values. Several US SBU businesses are making that impact during the holidays by providing food, clothing, toys and household goods to families needing assistance in their areas.
Earlier this month, Peter Jaffe, AES Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, shared the latest Ethics and Compliance Newsletter.
