Monthly COO Safety Message

In this month's safety message, Andy discusses the responsibility we have in preventing the spread of germs and viruses. It is important we all take preventive measures to stay healthy and be well. Prevention is the best way to avoid getting sick as viruses spread rapidly and in unpredictable ways. He also reminds us the role we play in creating a workplace free of incidents.  If you see anyone putting themselves at risk, it's your right and obligation to stop work immediately.

BEHIND THE MWs
AES wins long-term contract by providing innovative energy solutions to help meet California's electricity needs

On November 5, AES announced it was awarded 20-year contracts by Southern California Edison (SCE), to provide 1,284 MW of combined cycle gas-fired generation and 100 MW of battery-based energy storage. This new capacity will be built at AES Southland's existing power plant sites in Huntington Beach and Long Beach, part of the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
Fact or Fiction: Debunking sustainability myths

As part of our long-term strategy, AES aims to be recognized as a top quartile sustainable energy company. We recently announced that we delivered on that commitment by being named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for North America and ranked in the top quartile among all electric utilities. Now that we have achieved this designation, we must work to maintain it and improve year-over-year.
