Greetings!
In an effort to continuously improve our online presence, AES.com was migrated to a new website platform. While our website has the same look and feel, the new platform provides AES with new benefits including:
- Significant annual cost savings
- Optimized viewing experience on desktops, tablets and mobile phones
- Improved investors section, which is now in-line with public company best practices and includes the latest investor presentations on Slideshare and earning release materials organized graphically by year and by quarter
- New Google map displaying our locations around the world, including pop-ups with key facts about each site
We plan to continue this optimization effort by enhancing the site to build our story and our image with key external and internal audiences.

Quarterly Update
On Thursday, September 11, Andrés Gluski, AES President and CEO hosted the AES Quarterly Update for the second quarter of 2014. People joined the call to hear updates on the progress being made on our strategy for long term success. Andrés will be hosting two additional calls, one in Spanish and one in Portuguese, to allow as many people as possible to participate in a live update in their local language.
The upcoming call schedule is:
- Monday, September 15 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in Spanish
- Tuesday, September 16 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in Portuguese

IPL stages historic groundbreaking for new CCGT at Eagle Valley
A coal-burning plant at Indianapolis Power & Light Company, part of the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU) that was placed into service in 1949 took another step closer to a new life last week at a ground-breaking ceremony for a combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station. On-site construction of the CCGT at the Eagle Valley Generating Station will begin in the spring of 2015. The plant, 28 miles southwest of the US SBU headquarters in Indianapolis, is expected to be completed in 2017.

Latin Business Chronicle recently announced its list of Top 50 Businesswomen working in or with Latin America, and Scarlett Alvarez, AES Vice President and Chief Stakeholder Officer, was among those recognized. Scarlett joins a group of distinguished women who come from diverse backgrounds, including technology, investment banking, hospitality, energy and transportation.

Hector Tejada is Always On for Safety
Safety is our way of life and as a result we are Always On for Safety. Being Always On means having a continuous focus on doing things the right way, the safe way. In AES, we know that if our safety awareness fails for just an instant, our lives and the lives of others are put in serious risk. That is why Hector Tejada is Always On for Safety. He works as a Maintenance Mechanic at Alicura, a 1,050 MW hydroelectric power plant located on the Limay River in Argentina, part of the Andes Strategic Business Unit (SBU).

AES Philippines Foundation connects with the community through APEX
The AES Philippines Foundation, our non-profit organization committed to community development in the Philippines, recently hosted an APEX Competition for Electric Cooperatives in Baguio City, Philippines. The event included more than 100 participants from nine Electric Cooperatives, the Energy Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy and AES Philippines. This program marked the first APEX competition to include customer-electric cooperatives.
