Monthly COO Safety Message from Andy Vesey

On Sunday, August 10, a contractor working at our Cochrane construction project in Chile passed away as a result of injuries sustained while on the job. The contractor was working with four other people in the steam turbine building at a height of approximately 8 meters (25 feet) on a grated platform. He was wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including full body harness, but was not attached to the horizontal life line. While he was cleaning the work area at the end of the shift, one of the installed grating sections gave way and he fell through the gap.
