Earlier today, Andrés Gluski, AES CEO, announced organizational refinements that will help take the company to the next level by placing additional attention on our areas of strategic focus, further clarifying roles and responsibilities within the organization, and investing in the development of people to their fullest potential. The changes we're making will help develop our people through experiences while building our competitive advantages.

A message from the CEO: Focusing on our strategic efforts and developing our people

Over the past two years, we worked to fully transition to our market focused Strategic Business Unit (SBU) structure enabling us to achieve the scale necessary to drive results and growth through world-class operations. Earlier this year, we built on these efforts by focusing our strategy for success. Throughout these efforts, we've continued to strengthen our culture to make the way we work an advantage by making it easier for us to innovate, collaborate and get things done.

 

Today, we're announcing refinements to the organization that will further our progress.

Monthly CIO Cybersecurity Message 


In this month's CIO Cybersecurity message, Elizabeth discusses how cybercriminals are evolving their tactics to target businesses like AES. She reminds us of the dangers of spear-phishing and shares a recent story that involved actual spear-phishing message that was used by a cybercriminal to target an AES Arlington person. She also provides tips to help you spot a potentially dangerous message.

Elizabeth Hackenson, Chief Information Officer and SVP of Global Business Services, inducted into CIO Hall of Fame 

 

CIO Magazine recently announced the 2014 inductees to the CIO Hall of Fame and Elizabeth Hackenson, AES Chief Information Officer and SVP of Global Business Services, was among the six people recognized. This prestigious award honors IT leaders whose work has shaped the IT/business landscape, demonstrating both creative vision and practical leadership in information technology.

AES Eletropaulo ranked as Brazil's 13th Most Sustainable Company, according to Portal IMPRENSA

 

AES Eletropaulo, part of the Brazil Startegic Business Unit, was recongized for its sustainability efforts by Portal IMPRENSA for being the 13th Most Sustainable Company in Brazil. This achievement marks the seventh consecutive year AES Eletropaulo has been ranked.
