AES reported its second quarter 2014 financial results earlier today with Adjusted Earnings Per Share (EPS) of $.028. In second quarter 2014, our Adjusted EPS benefited from improvements in operations in the United States, Andes, Brazil and Mexico, Central America and Caribbean (MCAC) Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

Mong Duong II receives high praises from Vietnam President
In July, Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang visited our Mong Duong II Project site, a 1,200 MW coal-fired plant which is part of our Asia Strategic Business Unit (SBU). During his visit, President Sang praised the excellent progress that has been achieved since construction activities commenced in December 2010 and voiced his appreciation for AES' efforts to carry out this project safely, efficiently, on schedule and with the highest quality.

Laurel Mountain excels in Environment, Health and Safety audit
Recently, Laurel Mountain, a wind generation facility in the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU) underwent a scheduled Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Culture of Compliance Audit. The audit resulted in 22 "recognitions"for the Laurel Mountain team in Belington, West Virginia. AES hass three-year audit cycles for its businesses, and Laurel Mountain was scheduled for its first full EHS audit.

AES fires up second Jordan power project
AES, and our partner, Mitsui & Co, have started commercial operations at a 241 MW power plant in Jordan, their second project in the Hashemite Kingdom. The tri-fuel fired diesel engine power plant is located in Al-Manakher, 25 km east of Jordan's capital city, Amman.
