Did you know, each month Corporate Strategy and Investment host a Global Development Call? The calls are led by a functional area or business group and the topics are selected to provide valuable information, share best practices, and create discussions that will lead to a higher standard of business development process and better quality development projects. Our goal is to continue to build our business to help AES reach its strategic goals. In June, the call featured Stakeholder Management with a discussion on Civil Society.
The calls are typically hosted on the last Wednesday of the month from 9 AM-10 AM EDT. If you're interested in joining the calls, or to learn more, please contact Danielle Clarke.

Monthly COO Safety Message from Andy Vesey
As we continue to work towards creating a workplace free of incidents, it's important for us to learn from those that do happen so we can prevent them from happening again. We began actively managing and tracking significant incidents with potential serious or fatal consequences or what we call SIPs in January to do just that. Each SIP is analyzed for risks associated with the activity and to get to the root cause of the incident. With our findings, we've been communicating lessons learned to the safety community and I wanted to share a summary of our progress report for the first half of the year with you. |

Sidorov Nikolay Ivanovich is Always On for Safety
Always doing things the right way, the safe way, is simply a really good habit. The more it is practiced, the easier it becomes. At AES, we call this Always On. Sidorov Nikolay Ivanovich, a chemical shop foreman, at Ust-Kamenogorsk Hydro Power Plant, in Kazakhstan, part of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) knows how important it is to be Always On for Safety. |
A talent investment for our future in Northern Ireland
One of the ways AES demonstrates its commitment to making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate is by providing education and development opportunities for young people, particularly in areas where youth unemployment is high. The investments we make in our youth have proven particularly successful in our Northern Ireland (NI) businesses. Our involvement has given us the opportunity to identify, retain and nurture future talent, creating a 'Win Win' situation for local young people, the community as a whole and for our business. |
