Yesterday, Andrés Gluski, AES President and CEO, testified before the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs during a hearing focused on "U.S.-Dominican Republic Relations: Bolstering Economic Growth and Energy Independence." In his testimony, Andrés said, "Since 1997, AES has invested more than $850 million in the Dominican energy sector; today, we are the largest US investor in the country." This year more than 1,000 AES El Salvador people attended Values Day celebrations. The events were organized in three regions, and included, for the first time, 23 customer service offices located around the country.

US SBU IT team launches paper-saving 'green' campaign
Environmental stewardship and leadership are a key part of our business, and we strive to improve the environmental performance of every business we own. The US SBU Information Technology team is kicking off a SBU-wide campaign called "[Think] Before You Print" to encourage everyone to reduce the US SBU's carbon footprint and operate with less paper.

AES Eletropaulo launches Messages that Shine campaign to support Brazil's National Soccer Team
During the recent world cup games hosted in Brazil, AES Eletropaulo launched an interactive campaign to connect with their customers. Through the "Messages that Shine" program, AES Eletropaulo, utility business in the Brazil Strategic Business Unit (SBU), placed green and yellow lights at different areas of the city of Săo Paulo.
