Artur Tavares named Professional of the Year by Latam 

 

Artur Tavares, Director of Public Clients at AES Eletropaulo, part of the Brazil Strategic Business Unit (SBU) was recently recognized with Latam's highest accolade of Professional of the Year for his commitment to customer focus. He was included as a finalist for the award after receiving the Golden Award from ClienteSA Personalities- CIC Brasil 2013. 

AES Kazakhstan receives American Chamber of Commerce Recognition

 

At AES, we develop our capabilities and optimize our talents to continue to fuel our success. Our people working at AES Kazakhstan were recognized for their corporate training center project. In May, the Kazakhstan American Chamber of Commerce presented AES Kazakhstan with the 2014 Most Innovative Education and Training Award.

Claudia Colocho lives our Values every day

 

Claudia Colocho joined AES as the Ethics and Compliance Officer in El Salvador, part of our Mexico Central America and the Caribbean (MCAC) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Claudia immediately began a significant program of activities to develop a new image for the Ethics & Compliance department in El Salvador. She personally conducted 21 training sessions in 2 different regions that were attended by 560 AES people. At each session, people had the opportunity to learn about our Corporate Values, Corporate Tools and our Code of Conduct.

Steve Abe is Always On for Safety

 

Steve Abe knows the importance of being Always On for Safety. He is a team leader at Laurel Mountain, a wind facility in the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Steve is a true safety champion and he sets the example and actively participates in safety activities and initiatives at the site. For example, Steve sponsors the site safety and environmental committees. He also acts as the site safety coordinator and volunteers to participate as part of AES EHS audit teams.

AES Dominicana to partners with Técnicas Reunidas to upgrade power plants

 

At AES we continually strive to improve operations to meet the needs of customers. AES Dominicina, part of the Mexico, Central America, and Caribbean (MCAC) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), recently announced plans to convert their plants to combined cycle from natural gas, aimed at boosting its current 210 megawatts, to 324 MW of energy to the national grid.
