Andy Vesey, AES Chief Operating Officer, joins industry leaders for panel discussion on evolving the grid for new energy services
On June 9, Andy Vesey, AES Chief Operating Officer, participated in a panel discussion on The Grid as Evolving Platform for New Energy Services as part of the Edison Electric Institute's (EEI) Annual Convention in Las Vegas Nevada.
The panel participants provided their insights on how the electric grid is evolving into a platform for energy services and new technologies - both basic grid services such as reliability and resiliency as well as enhanced grid services like the integration of distributed resources, renewable energy, and energy storage and the management of grid assets and energy optimization.

The Washington Business Journal recently announced its list of the top Chief Financial Officers (CFO) in the Washington, DC area, and AES CFO, Tom O'Flynn was among the 12 people recognized. The Washington Business Journal evaluated the CFOs on financial growth, leadership and commitment to financial best practices and accounting standards.

AES Energy Storage recently received the inaugural Brad Roberts Outstanding Industry Achievement Award from the Energy Storage Association (ESA). AES' energy storage projects are deployed around the world in diverse applications and their leadership role in the industry as a whole displays a substantial commitment to advancing storage that has paved the way for innovative projects of all sizes.

Evangeline Serrano is Always On for Safety
Evangeline is Always On for Safety. Based at AES' Masinloc facility in the Philippines, part of the Asia Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Evangeline has been instrumental in improving this plant's safety programs over the past two years. Her commitment helped Masinloc to be eligible for OSHA 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications. She has helped in providing several trainings at Masinloc, as well as at the Taguig office. Her drive, commitment, and continuous follow up, has led the safety committee to be very effective improving the safety meeting participation.

AES Eletropaulo Recycling Program Rewards Clients with World Cup Soccer Balls
AES Eletropaulo, a utility business in the Brazil Strategic Business Unit (SBU), is hoping to encourage their customers to help their local environment by recycling. Customers who recycle the most waste in AES Eletropaulo's Recycle More, Pay Less are not only entitled to rebates in their power bills, but will also receive a World Cup Brazuca soccer ball. The soccer balls will be delivered to winning customers after the opening of the event in Brazil, via campaign "Recyclers Score!"
