COMMUNITY MATTERS

AES partners with Habitat for Humanity in Philippines

The recovery efforts currently underway in the Philippines following the devastating Typhoon Yolanda that struck the country in November 2013 will take time, resources and dedication from people, governments, businesses and organizations from around the globe. AES is committed to help the country recover and is proud to be part of the recovery efforts. From day one, our team in the Philippines and Asia Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has been hard at work coordinating relief efforts to help those in need. Most recently, AES Philippines, through its foundation AES Philippines Power Foundation, executed an agreement with Habitat for Humanity to help families affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

PARTNERING WITH THE PLANET
AES Panama plants half million trees to protect Panama's rainforest

AES values are at the heart of our operations and we believe these values set AES apart from others in our industry. Our people working in Panama are doing their part to honor their commitment to the local community. Panama's Environmental Authority (ANAM) recently inspected and validated progress on the General Forest Recovery Plan - including the recent planting of half million native species saplings - as part of AES Panama's commitment to protect and recover the rainforest surrounding the Changuinola I hydroelectric plant.
