Indianapolis Power & Light Company recognized for storm recovery efforts

The linemen at Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a utility business in the US Strategic Business Unit, have been getting a lot of recognition lately for their "super" restoration efforts after an early January snowstorm and subzero temperatures left 65,000 customers without power. And, last Monday, the local city council passed a special resolution honoring a five-day restoration effort by IPL and mutual assistance crews that restored 1,000 outage events.

OPGC named a finalist in the 3rd Annual Greentech Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards

Sustainability is a central part of our business and becoming recognized as a sustainable company is one of our strategic objectives. Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC), part of the Asia Strategic Business Unit (SBU), was recently named a finalist in the 2013 Greentech CSR Awards.

AES Storage Solutions Surpass 1.5 Million Megawatt-Hours of Delivered Service

AES Energy Storage recently announced that its fleet of advanced grid storage solutions achieved an important milestone by surpassing 1.5 million MW-h of delivered service in the U.S. and Chile. In January 2014, AES entered its sixth year of commercial service from advanced battery arrays.

Carrying the Torch: Internal Control Director, Aleksei Brizhik, participates in Olympic Torch Relay

The upcoming winter Olympics, hosted in Sochi, Russia, is the perfect time to celebrate our pride for the communities and countries in which we operate. AES Internal Control Director, Aleksei Brizhik, from the corporate office in Arlington, Virginia bore Olympic torch on January 17 in Belgorod, Russia.
