A Message from CEO Andrés Gluski
In 2013, we showed just how much we can accomplish as an organization with this strong sense of purpose. In the face of challenging conditions, including the worst drought in Latin America in 70 years and unfavorable energy and commodity prices in the United States, we delivered on our commitments. Working together, we strengthened our safety culture and came closer to reaching world-class levels across the company.

Two AES businesses, AES Gener and Dayton Power & Light (DPL), were recently named finalists in the 2014 Excellence in Process Awards, hosted by PEX Network. The PEX Network's Excellence in Process awards aims to recognize companies who have used Process Excellence to improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimize costs

Alto Maipo named Latin America Power Deal of the Year
AES Gener, part of the Andes Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Alto Maipo project received the 2013 Latin America Power Deal of the Year Award from Project Finance magazine. The construction financing of two units of the Alto Maipo hydropower project in Chile, Alfalfal II (264 MW) and Las Lajas (267 MW), received the award. |

AES Philippines publishes sustainability report
Sustainability is integrated into how we work at AES and becoming recognized as a sustainable company is one of our strategic objectives. AES Philippines, part of the Asia Strategic Business Unit (SBU), recently published its first-ever sustainability report for the country. The report discloses the overall economic, environmental and social impacts of our operations and business in the country.

AES Lake Benton Adopts-A-Highway
Our people working at AES Lake Benton, part of the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU), are doing their part to keep their community clean. The AES Lake Benton Power Partners Team took to the ditches, cleaning up an adopted a 2.2-mile stretch of a local highway. The group of AES people started adopted the highway in support of our annual Values Day.
