Monthly CIO Cybersecurity Message from Elizabeth Hackenson
In this month's cybersecurity message, Elizabeth shares the results of the security awareness campaign. The awareness campaign, through which we sent email that mimics the spear-phishing messages that target our organization, had nearly 50 percent of AES people who received these fake spear-phishing emails clicked on the link. These early results are common for a global organization like AES.

How you can support our relief efforts in the Philippines
As mentioned on the Quarterly Update Call, AES is committed to help the Philippines and its people through this difficult time by supporting their redevelopment efforts with our resources, experience, and technical knowledge and capabilities. Thanks to the many people who have already contributed, we've raised $50,000 to fund our efforts but we want to be able to do more which is why we're asking for your help.

Each year, we have the opportunity to honor AES people who have an extraordinary impact on our organization with our Global Awards. The Global Awards are AES' highest form of recognition. The people selected as winners have historically set the standard for excellence at AES and model our corporate values.

AES Eletropaulo receives Eco Award
AES Eletropaulo, a utility business in the Brazil Strategic Business Unit (SBU), recently received the Eco Award from the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham), a pioneer in acknowledging business sustainability in Brazil. The company was recognized in the Processes category, after the assessment of its Transforming Consumers into Clients Program by a panel of 55 specialists.

AES Galabovo recognized for health and safety programs
AES Galabovo in Bulgaria, a generation business in the European, Middle East and Africa Business Unit (EMEA) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), was recently recognized for putting safety first. The business' health and safety programs won a best practice award from the regional Health & Safety at Work organization which is part of Bulgaria's National Center for Health & Safety.

At AES, it's the energy of our people that power our success. Recently, Senior Manager of Boiler & Machinery, Justin Voss, was recognized in the Combined Cycle Journal as the "Forum Master" of a global technical forum for gas-turbine owner/operators. The Gas Turbine Forum is an online network connecting industry professionals worldwide; it is managed and conducted by industry volunteers with the mission to facilitate access by electric-power professionals to technical information on gas turbines

Accessing the Innovation Congress presentations, abstracts and papers
In September, more than 150 AES people from all of our business units spent two days presenting best practices in place and sharing innovative and value creating ideas at the AES Congress on Innovation, Technical Excellence and Sustainable Practices. To help us foster innovation throughout the company, an online repository of conference abstracts, papers and presentations was created. Take a moment and browse the collection and see firsthand the innovative ideas that are being developed here at AES.
