Greetings!
Yesterday, AES announced the repurchase of 20 million shares of AES common stock and a secondary offering of 40 million shares of common stock by a subsidiary of China Investment Corporation (CIC). "We are pleased to have partnered with CIC on this agreement, and will be repurchasing shares at modest discount to the offering price," said Andrés Gluski, AES President and Chief Executive Officer. "This transaction is an acceleration of planned repurchases of our shares, and is in-line with our capital allocation framework to maximize value for our shareholders."

AES Gener closes Alto Maipo financing process and construction will start in December
AES Gener, part of the Andes Strategic Business Unit (SBU), recently announced the execution of the Alto Maipo Project was approved by the company's Board of Directors, with ownership participation by AES Gener S.A. (60%) and Antofagasta Minerals S.A. (40%). Construction will start this month and the financing process was concluded.

AES Changuinola places successful note issue for $420 million
AES Changuinola, a generation plant in the Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean (MCAC) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), successfully closed a $420 million, 10-year bond offering on the Panama Stock Exchange. This offering set a new record in the Panamanian bond market history as the largest corporate financing to date.

AES Kazakhstan to build new 120 MW turbine at Ust-Kamenogorsk
AES Kazakhstan, part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) recently held a ceremony to mark the beginning of construction on a new 120 MW turbine AES Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP LLP. The ceremony was attended by Michael Klecheski, USA Deputy Ambassador in Kazakhstan, Alistair Preston, CFO of EMEA SBU and SEPCO1 Electric Power Construction Corporation (SEPCO1).

After a very successful pilot program, Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a utility business in the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU) is officially launching its presence on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Social media will enable IPL to increase accessibility and positive engagement with its customers. Those who connect on social media will be able to stay up-to-date on programs, community involvement, power delivery, severe weather communications and more.
