Greetings!
At AES, improving lives and making a lasting difference in the communities in which our businesses operate is a core part of our values and mission. Following the devastating destruction of Typhoon Haiyan, a tropical storm that impacted the Philippines and Vietnam, we are working with our local teams, governments and relief agencies to see how AES can best aid in the recovery efforts.
We know AES people from around the globe want to help honor our commitment to the local communities and contribute to the recovery process. We are working diligently to provide support that will best help the country in its recovery and to setup a secure method for AES people to contribute to these efforts.

Monthly COO Safety Message from Andy Vesey
In this month's COO Safety Message, Andy discusses how we must continue to strive to create a workplace free of incidents. To help us achieve this goal, a working group comprised of people from all SBUs are establishing a framework of how we will look more closely at our significant incidents- ones with serious or fatal consequences or what we're calling Significant Incidents and Potential (SIPs).

Leveraging our platform for success in Dominican Republic
AES made its first investment in the Dominican Republic in 1997 and since then has progressively leveraged its platform to expand operations, while improving the local community. AES Domincana, part of the Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean Strategic Business Unit (MCAC SBU), is continuously adding long-term value by honoring their commitments to stakeholders, providing quality service at a competitive cost, and expanding their energy mix. All of this together has increased AES Dominicana's market share to nearly 40% in the country.
