Last month, nearly 150 AES people gathered in Indianapolis, Indiana for the global Congress on Innovation, Technical Excellence and Sustainable Practices. For two days AES people from around the globe shared their innovative ideas. AES Sul (part of the Brazil SBU) took home second place in the People category for their project "AES Brazil Innovation Forum."
The innovation forum is based on the crowd-sourcing concept that allows greater collaboration among AES people across departments. The "collective intelligence" environment allows individuals to collectively think together, solving problems more efficiently. This collaborative environment provides a space for someone to share their own idea or problem and invite others to comment and provide input, turning problems into solutions and ideas into action.

AES reaches 100 MW of grid-scale storage resources in US
AES is now operating more than 100 MW of grid-scale storage resources with the opening of a new commercial operation in Ohio. Located at Dayton Power and Light's (DP&L) Tait generating station in Moraine, Ohio, the project is providing fast-response frequency regulation services to PJM Interconnection to stabilize the grid that serves more than 60 million people.

AES Dominicana receives top honor for corporate social responsibility programs
AES Dominicana, part of our Mexico, Central America and Caribbean strategic business unit (MCAC SBU), was awarded with the recognition of best practices in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the category "Corporate governance 2013," for adopting institutional principles of business based on responsible behavior.

AES Eletropaulo and AES Tietê Receive Transparency Award
AES Eletropaulo was deemed Brazil's most transparent company among public corporations with over BRL 5 billion in sales, and AES Tietê ranked first among public corporation with sales of up to BRL 5 billion or roughly 2.63 million US dollars. Over 2,000 financial statements were reviewed to list the top 20 companies.
