Greetings!
Our commitment to customers and communities was well represented at the AES Congress on Innovation, Technical Excellence and Sustainable Practices that wrapped up last week. AES Panama took home second prize in the stakeholder management category for their work in sustainable initiatives supporting their local community. Their project, Training with Energy and AES POETA: adding value for community empowerment through training and employment in Bocas del Toro, highlighted the positive impact they've had on the region. Specifically the program worked to address fears that investments AES made in the community would end after the infrastructure upgrade was completed. The AES Panama team addressed this challenge through a long-term sustainable strategy geared toward community empowerment focusing on training and employment.

Elizabeth shares practical advice on how to avoid phishing attacks, whereby hackers use email or malicious websites to solicit personal or proprietary information by posing as a trustworthy organization. The risk posed by these spear-phishing emails is compounded by sophisticated hackers rapidly changing the content of their messages so the attack signatures are never-seen-before and easily evade anti-spam and anti-virus solutions.
