 AES Eletropaulo announces increased smart grid investment in Brazil AES Eletropaulo recently announced Brazil's largest smart grid initiative, with investments of BRL 70 million for the city of Barueri, state of São Paulo. The city has a population of approximately 250,000. Smart grids are intelligent power networks in which mechanical client consumption meters are exchanged for smart digital meters. AES Eletropaulo currently receives client consumption information based on readings alone, conducted approximately once a month. |

DPL people families help clean up Great Miami River in celebration of Earth Day
The weather was cool and breezy, but about 30 Dayton Power and Light (DPL) people, their families and other volunteers spent part of a recent Saturday on making a difference for the environment.They worked to pick up trash and recyclables from around the river as part of the Five Rivers MetroParks Adopt-a-Park event. The park district sends volunteers to locations around Montgomery County that need to be cleaned up.

On April 26, the Chair of the Trustees and the Chief Executive of the British Safety Council congratulated the 467 organizations, including seven AES businesses in EMEA, who won an International Safety Award in 2013. This prestigious award, now in its fifty-fifth year, is given to organisations in recognition of their proven commitment to workplace health and safety.
