Did you know that US President Barack Obama met with AES CEO Andrés Gluski last week at the White House? Andrés was in a group of 10 U.S. business executives whose companies have a major presence in Mexico and Central America prior to the President's trip to Mexico and Costa Rica.

AES Gener was honored recently by the Instituto Argentino de Capacitación Profesional y Tecnológica para el Comercio (INACAP)for itsoutstanding work on last year's development of technical competencies for its people and the positive impact the program had for the company and community. INACAP is one of Chile's top universities for studies in technology.

Andy Vesey, AES COO, was in Brazil last week to participate in number of important events at our businesses in the country
During his visit, Andy helped inaugurate AES Eletropaulo's new headquarters and Distribution Operation Center (DOC), recognize a an important milestone in Eletropaulo's regularization program and recognize AES Tietê and its people with the 2012 Samuel W. Bodman, III Golden Hard Hat Award.

AES Tietê celebrates receiving the Golden Hard Hat Award
We put safety first and we recognize those businesses which embody this value. On Friday, April 25, AES people and contractors from Tietê gathered to celebrate AES' highest safety recognition, the Samuel W. Bodman, III Golden Hard Hat Award. The award is named after Dr. Samuel W. Bodman, III who was a part of AES Board of Directors and retired in 2012. The AES leadership recognized his continual support of the company's safety initiatives by naming the Golden Hard Hat in his honor.
