DP&L Outperforms State Standards for Reliability in 2012

Dayton Power & Light performed better in 2012 than the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) standard for reliability by having fewer outages per customer and for having outages that were shorter in length than the standard.

Last year, DP&L recorded less than one outage per customer - the standard was 1.07 outages per customer. According to the PUCO reliability report, DP&L reported 0.8 outages per customer in 2012.

Odisha Power (OPGC) gets government OK for two more plants

The Odisha government has approved construction and installation of the third and fourth units by Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) at its Ib Valley plant near Jharsuguda. Odisha, formerly known as Orissa, is the 11th largest state by population in India and is located on the subcontinent's southeast coast by the Bay of Bengal.

The two new units will add 1,320 MW capacity to OPGC's existing power station at the site, which has an installed capacity of 420 MW.
