Flu Symptoms
A SPECIAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REMINDER
Staying Healthy During Flu Season

Given the severity of the current flu season in the United States, it is important that we all remain vigilant and avoid contracting and spreading the virus. Most experts believe that flu viruses are transmitted when people who have the flu cough, sneeze or talk. People might also get the flu by touching contaminated surfaces or objects and then touching their own mouth, eyes or nose. It is possible to spread the flu before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick.

Things You Should Do:

  1. Take the flu vaccine now if you haven't already.
  2. Wash your hands often after being in public spaces.
  3. Avoid contact with sick people.
  4. If you get sick, stay home until you get better to avoid spreading the flu to your coworkers.
