A WIN EVERY WEEK: SRI LANKA GLOBAL COMMERCE EXCELLENCE AWARD
No matter where we're operating, we build meaningful relationships with our communities, helping them succeed as we do. In recognition of their contribution to the people of Sri Lanka, AES Kelanitissa received the 2012 Global Commerce Excellence Award sponsored by The Shippers' Academy in conjunction with Sri Lanka's Ports Authority, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Airport Aviation Services Sri Lanka and The Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Global Commerce Excellence AwardThe Global Commerce Excellence Awards were presented to overseas partners who supported the people of Sri Lanka and the nation's economic activities during the three decades of hardship the country faced due to terrorism.

SAFETY IS OUR WAY OF LIFE: SIGNIFICANT SAFETY INCIDENTS
Each month, our Global Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team creates a report containing summaries of significant safety incidents (as reported by AES businesses into the AESOnline System) and examples of unsafe actions or conditions for which AES people used their stop work authority. These brief reports include incident descriptions, initial causes and corrective actions undertaken locally.

Significant Safety Incident Reports are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Russian in DocuShare. They are learning tools that can help us send each and every AES person and contractor home from work in the same condition they arrived.

There are 6-10 significant incidents in each monthly report. Although it is good to review all of them, we ask that each location review and discuss the incidents relevant to their risks and hazards.
