The Lenten iMPACT Series continues this Wednesday, March 6th.  Dinner begins at 5:30 pm. The menu for dinner is spaghetti, broccoli, salad, and dessert.  Please call the church office (454-3718) to reserve your meal.  Following dinner, at 6:30 p.m., Pastor Jay and Newton will continue the Lenten study, "The Final Words." There is also a class for the children.  The children will continue their Lenten study called, "The Way, Following Jesus."

  

  

  

A New Member Class will be offered on Saturday, March 9th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Fellowship Hall.  This class is designed for new members who have previously joined, those who are exploring JPC as a church home, and others desiring information about Jamestown Presbyterian Church.  Breakfast and child care will be provided.  Please call the church office to register or for additional information call Pastor Jay Smith (454-3718), Newton Cowan (454-3718) or Clarajo Pleasants (454-3829).  The next class of new members will join on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013.

  

  

  

Calling all men ages 18 to 118.  We need 20 men interested in reaching out to members of our community by volunteering with Housing Greensboro on March 9th beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Housing Greensboro provides home repair services to low income homeowners.  Our specific jobs have not been decided yet, but could include: roof work, minor plumbing, energy efficiency modifications, building ramps, etc.  All skill levels and ages welcome.  To sign-up, please contact Jim Salthouse at 336-686-5511 or jimsalthouse@triad.rr.com.

  

  

  

The next FROGs event for 3rd-5th graders is coming up this Saturday, March 9th. Join us for Movie/Game Night at JPC from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Dinner and s'mores will be provided.  Bring your favorite board or card game.  You may also bring a Wii game, but it should be family-oriented (non-violent).  Bring a friend!  Please RSVP to Tracy McRae by Friday, March 8th.

Friday, March 29^th: Good Friday: Our choir will join with Starmount Presbyterian to present St. John's Passion at 7:00 p.m. at Starmount. We will be taking the JPC buses for anyone who wants a ride. Buses will depart at 6:15 p.m. from JPC and will bring you back.

 

Saturday, March 30: Family Easter Egg Hunt 2:00 p.m. on the field

 

Sunday, March 31: Easter Sunday: Worship at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. with Communion.

Third Day Concert:

Join us on April 20th at the Greensboro Coliseum for Third Day in concert with special guest "American Idol" contestants Colton Dixon and Josh Wilson. Concert starts at 7:00 p.m.; doors open at 6:00 p.m. Group tickets are $19 per person. Open to all church members. We would like to purchase a block of tickets seated together, so please sign up by March 10th by the sign-up sheet located on the Welcome Cart or email/call the church office (info@2jpc.org / 336-454-3718).

  

 

From the Session:

 

The Session has requested a review of all security measures and procedures at JPC; that review is currently underway. This is to ensure the safety and security of members, staff, and guests as they utilize the church facilities and our physical property. At present, EVERYONE can help by making sure ALL doors are locked as you leave the building after normal business hours. Please don't assume that someone else will do it or that someone else is in the building. Also, for increased safety, please leave the outside lights on which are outside of the Office, Parlor, Sanctuary, and CLC kitchen. Thank you so much for your assistance.
