The
next NAPCOR meeting is less than one month away! Please join us July 13 and 14 in Toledo, OH where we will be hosted by member company Plastic Technologies, Inc. In addition to the latest updates on the PET packaging industry and NAPCOR projects, the meeting agenda includes a tour of PTI's labs and operations. A preliminary meeting itinerary was released last week.

All meetings will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Toledo Perrysburg. Click here to 1) register for the meeting, 2) RSVP for sessions and meals, and 3) book your hotel room. Make your hotel reservations soon - the room rate of $139/night ends next Friday, July 24th.

For travel arrangements, the closest airport (about thirty minutes away) is the Toledo Express Airport; the nearest major airport is Detroit Metro (about one hour away).
PTI has provided a Visitors Guide and a Visitor Agreement for members to review prior to arriving at the facility. All tour participants must sign an Agreement, so please return via email to Karen prior to the meeting.

If you have any questions about the meeting or registration process, please contact Karen. Be sure to check your inbox again next week for more details about the meeting!

NAPCOR would like to express sincere appreciation for Plastic Technologies' commitment to our membership in hosting this meeting.

Plastic Can - ABA Issue Alert

Last month's newsletter included links to recent news reports about the resurgence of "plastic cans,"
beverage containers that have a PET body with a pull-tab top made of aluminum. We neglected to link to the American Beverage Association's "ABA Environmental Affairs: Issue Alert" on the subject which has been shared with NAPCOR. The alert summarizes the bans on plastic cans in Illinois, Maine, and Minnesota, and emphasizes the potential disruptive effect of packages like this on the recycling infrastructure.
