Thank you, NAPCOR members
|
Thanks to everyone who attended the meetings in Chicago two weeks ago, and special thanks to presenters Tad Radzinski, Jason Bateman and Doug Brainard. We've made the meeting documents available from the Member Page, accessed via the Member Login (upper right on the home page). The slides from the three Session of Member Interest presentations are there, and so are the minutes from the business meeting. If you're a NAPCOR member and have trouble accessing the Member Page, please contact David.

Executive Director Sabourin to step down
|
At Thursday morning's business meeting, NAPCOR Chairman Tom Busard announced that Dennis Sabourin will be stepping down as Executive Director at the end of 2013. Dennis has served as ED since January 1, 2005. Tom is heading an ED search committee whose other members are Dennis, Byron Geiger, Jon McNaull and Shankar Prabhushankar. They have identified a dual business and technical background as the priority criterion for ED candidates. It's expected that the selection process will be completed in time for the November meetings.

Invitation to a webinar
|
The Wisconsin Council on Recycling is hosting a webinar entitled Recycling of PET Thermoformed Plastics on August 5, from 10 am to 11 am CDT. Guest speakers Resa Dimino (NAPCOR) and Daniel Mohs (CEO, Placon) will discuss the status of PET thermoformed plastics recycling in Wisconsin and nationally. There will be ample time for questions. The webinar is part of the Council's initiative to develop recommendations for substantially increasing plastics recycling in the state.
Online registration is requested so sufficient capacity can be arranged. Click here for more information on the initiative or to register for the webinar. Call-in information will be included with your registration confirmation.

Mapping member assets
|
At the meeting of the Issues Management & Public Affairs Committee, we briefly mentioned a staff effort to build a searchable database of member assets. It would serve primarily as a legislative response tool, enabling us to mobilize members who might be affected by upcoming threats (and opportunities) and quickly mount a coordinated response.
Of course, we have to ask your help in assembling this data; at the moment, we generally know only the location of your headquarters, and, in some cases, a main plant. For this tool to function as we envision, we need a list of all your facilities in the U.S. and Canada -- at a minimum, the name of the facility, its purpose and its location (preferably a street address, so we can use the mapping function of the database).
Please send your list to David; we'll have something to show at the November meetings. Thanks to those who have already provided data.
