It was wonderful to have many families visiting the primary building last week. As always, we had a full house for the kindergarten concert on Tuesday and a wonderful group of first grade parents here for pastries on Thursday. If you haven't had a chance to see the art show displayed in the hallways, I hope you have an opportunity soon. Thanks to Ms. Cash and Mrs. Angell for helping our children discover their artistic talents.
On Friday, we will have a Spirit Assembly at 8:30 a.m. The month of May is filled with celebrations, field trips and exciting activities. Please check your Friday newsletters to ensure your family is here for all the fun!

Our April character word was "accountability" and our students of the month for April are as follows:
6th Grade: Jade Melton and Lucas Pemberton
7th Grade: Bailey Mitchell and Garret Owen
8th Grade: Kayla Reno and Brenton Morris
Last week's drawing winner was Rachel Ricketts; she was the winner of the VIP lunch pass.
This will be a busy week for us here at the middle school with the 8th grade beginning their MAP/EOC testing. The 6th and 7th grade will join in on the testing next week which wraps up on the 15th. We will have our MAP survivor day on the 16th; this is an outdoor field day to celebrate the end of testing. Students must have good attendance and show a great effort during testing to qualify for survivor day.
This week is also Teacher Appreciation Week and Tuesday is Nurses Day!

On Friday, May 2, the senior class participated in mock interviews at the Hallsville United Methodist Church. Several local business, education and government leaders helped out by giving our students interviews in their respective fields. The seniors were excited and nervous at the same time but the event went smoothly. Thanks to our hard workers in the Guidance Center, Mrs. Austene, Mrs. Finlay and Mrs. Tessman. I would also like to thank the Hallsville United Methodist Church for hosting us again and the volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to help our students better prepare for a career.
