Snow Days and Summer School Updates

Hallsville R-IV Schools has scheduled the makeup days for the snow days. School WILL be in session on April 18 & 21 and May 27-30 as snow make-up days for the six days missed this school year due to inclement weather.

The administrative team recommended to push back the start of Summer School due to the quick use of all of our snow days for this school year. The School Board voted to accept this recommendation at the board meeting on February 19. The 2014 Summer School session will now run from June 9 - July 3.

Kindergarten Enrollment Process

Children who will be 5 years of age on or before July 31 are encouraged to enroll for kindergarten in Hallsville R-IV Schools. The enrollment process is broken into the three steps defined below.

Initial Enrollment

The first step for parents is to attend one of our registration events which will take place on the following dates: Monday, March 3 from 1-7 p.m. and Tuesday, March 4 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. During this event, parents will be asked to fill out enrollment forms, provide proof of residence, birth certificate and immunization records, as well as schedule a screening appointment. The child does not have to be present for this event.

Screening Appointment

Bring the child for the screen appointment. Most screening appointments last 30-60 minutes and take place during March 17-21.

Fall Enrollment Registration

The final portion of the enrollment process is completed online during July 7 - August 1. At this time, all students will be registered for the upcoming school year. Parents will utilize the SISK12 Parent Portal to complete this process. The SISK12 log-in information will be provided via email after the initial enrollment event.

If you have any questions regarding enrollment, please contact Mrs. Frevert at 573-696-5512 Ext. 334 or via email at mfrevert@hallsville.org.

They played three matches during the preliminary rounds, winning all three against Osage (570-170), Versailles (690-80) and Southern Boone County (440-150). They were the No. 1 seed for the play-offs and won the semi-final game against Osage (520-180). The championship round was a rematch of last year's championship game against Eldon. The primary students enjoyed a visit to the main campus to visit the petting zoo on Friday, February 21. The children became friends with several animals that would make wonderful pets. We appreciated the opportunity to visit the high school.

Parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner. Please complete the scheduling form and return it to your child's teacher as soon as possible. If a conflict arises for the time of your appointment, please contact the teacher to reschedule. Conversations between parents and teachers are vital in providing support for student achievement. Summer school information will be available during conferences.

Hello Intermediate Families from Washington DC! I'm here on Capitol Hill this week with other principals across the nation, speaking to members of the congress about the successes, struggles and ultimately, what our schools need to continue to provide high quality educational experiences. I will return Thursday, hopefully with a positive vibe from our Nation's Capitol on the future of resources and support for the students of our great country.
