Middle School Quiz Bowl

On Saturday, January 18,Coach Lockwood took two Middle School Quiz Bowl teams to the 2014 Tuscumbia Winter Middle School Academic Tournament. Hallsville A went 4-1 in the morning, losing their last preliminary match by only a single toss-up question. They moved on to the championship bracket for the afternoon, finishing with an overall record of 6-3 and taking home the third place trophy out of a field of 18 teams. Primary School News
Karen Jimerson Karen Jimerson, Principal

During our Professional Learning Community (PLC) activities on Friday, our teachers finalized the first draft of a complete unit of instruction.  The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has established specific core standards for each grade level and curricular area, and what we teach each day must be aligned with objectives that are identified in these standards.  Grade level teams work together regularly to prepare lessons and assessments that target the appropriate skills and content, and we value this time to learn as a professional team.
