Primary School News

You should have received your child's progress report on Friday, January 10.  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about the information reported.  Benchmark testing completed in December gave us data on the progress students made in the first half of the year, and test scores help us plan for instruction in the coming weeks.

Just as a reminder, there is no school on Friday, January 17 and Monday, January 20.  Be sure to enjoy a good book with your little one, especially on days when school is not in session.

Intermediate School News
Stacy Fick, Principal

Last week, we welcomed the students back to second semester.  Report cards were sent home on Friday.  We began our Time for Kids Campaign.Booklets and magazine orders are due Wednesday, January 15!

This week, students will start in new intervention groups.  PRIDE is daily from 8:15-8:45 a.m. for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, while 2nd grade PRIDE is 2:30-3 p.m. daily.  It's very important for students to be on time to school each day so they can get the full benefit of their PRIDE time.  If you have questions about your child's PRIDE time, check in with their classroom teacher.  The PRIDE sessions are customized literacy or math instruction, based on your child's area of need.

There will be no school for students on Friday, January 17 for a teacher workday and Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Grade cards will be mailed on January 17.

We are ready to get the second semester started. Grades from August to December are now final and will become a permanent part of the transcripts. Now, it is time to start fresh for the second semester. The high school will not have open lunch and academic support for the first four weeks. Once the first progress cycle is complete, we will resume our open lunch schedule.
