Hallsville R-IV Going Mobile

Hallsville R-IV Schools is proud to announce the launch of the Hallsville R-IV app, an all-in-one information source for parents, students, staff and community. Our school district has partnered with ParentLink to develop this app to provide direct access to the district's most sought after information in the most convenient format -- your mobile device.

Recognizing trends in social technology and the unprecedented use of smartphones and tablet devices, Hallsville R-IV Schools has elected to become part of the mobile sphere to better connect and collaborate with the majority of our stakeholders.

App Features

  • District and school news, allowing the user to select which schools and district news feeds they want to subscribe to
  • Calendar information for schools and district events, including the ability to add events from school calendars to the user's device calendar
  • Sports scores, schedules, and links to sports sites
  • Push notifications for the district/schools to send out important alerts to the user's mobile device
  • A message tool for users to provide the district with suggestions, security issues, comments and other important information
  • Contact information for teachers, administrators and other staff
  • School and district directories and maps
  • Links to the School/District's Facebook, Twitter & YouTube Sites
  • Superintendent updates with the latest communications from your district leaders

Winter Wear

Winter weather is here! Please be sure to send your child to school in coats, hats, gloves and, of course, pants or covered legs! The Intermediate and Primary students will be going outside for a full recess when the temperature is above 32 degrees. Middle school and high school students should also dress appropriately for the weather in case of an emergency. Stay warm!

Primary School News
Karen Jimerson Karen Jimerson, Principal

We enjoyed having guests for lunch on Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The children enjoyed making and wearing their Indian attire for our visitors.

This will be a busy week as we begin our benchmark testing in first grade. Please be sure that your children are well rested and are ready to do their best on this assessment.

On Friday, we will have our monthly character assembly. Students who have won shining star drawings in the past month will be recognized and our teachers are sure to take advantage of this opportunity to highlight a character trait we strive for at Hallsville Primary.

Intermediate School News
Stacy Fick Stacy Fick, Principal

Our Character Assembly on Tuesday was great fun! Several teachers enjoyed a pie eating contest! Congrats Mrs. White on your big win! As a surprise, a few students wore mashed potatoes on their heads while their teachers threw Bugle Cornucopias at the spuds, trying to "stick" as many as they could into these "Potato Heads." We also honored our October and November character champs and had a great time.

The high school student council designed a Diversity Day to give the students an opportunity to discuss current topics affecting teens today. They invited two guest speakers from Missouri State University to come talk about dealing with insensitivity and being sensitive to others. Then our students went into breakout sessions led by our teachers so they could talk about personal experiences dealing with insensitivity.

We are entering our last progress cycle before the semester ends. Now is the last chance to bring those grades up before they become final. Parents, be sure to check your email soon for details on finals week.
