We had nearly 90% attendance at our Meet the Teacher event! I'd like to welcome all new students, second graders, and their families to Hallsville Intermediate School.

The teachers have been diligently preparing for the students to arrive and we can't wait until Monday morning!

As we send our children back to school, remember that they are in wonderful hands! You may want to be a little early to your bus stops just in case on the first few mornings of school. Remember, students should be to their classrooms before 8:06 a.m. Parent pick-ups are in the North parking lot at 3:10 p.m.

Some students will get a new schedule on the first day back that may be different from the one they picked up at registration. In order to balance out some high numbers in certain sections of classes, we had to move them to different hours of the same class. Thank you to everyone for their patience with this tricky process.

Parking issues have been solved (kind of). After the waiting list applicants were compiled, we opened up the back parking lot by the Ag shop to fill out the rest of the current requests for juniors and seniors. Several sophomores have also signed up for parking spots this year and we will accommodate them with parking spots on the main campus until construction begins. When the construction is ready to begin, the sophomores will have to park in the gravel lot by the primary school that is used for football game parking. A shuttle bus will pick those students up if they are parked and ready by 7:45 a.m. or they will have a little bit of walk over to the high school. As a peace offering to those who do not get permanent spots on the main campus, we are not charging them a fee for the parking permit. With parking spots becoming a huge demand for our growing population, they will be treated as a privilege that can be removed at any time for discipline reasons. We have a bunch of students who would love a spot closer to the door. Behave in class and drive responsibly in the parking lot to keep your spot.

Welcome back everyone. It is going to be a great year!
