School Meal Menus & Prices
A breakfast and lunch program will be offered during the school year. All students are eligible for the program. Our lunch and breakfast menus are available online. The cost for student meals for the 2013-14 school year will be $1 for breakfast, $1.75 for lunch, 25 cents for reduced-price breakfast and 40 cents for reduced-price lunch. Application for free or reduced price meals must be completed each school year. If you wish to apply, applications can be filled out at your child's school. Payments are accepted at all schools. Place checks or cash in an envelope and have your student hand it in to their homeroom teacher or school office. You may also visit MySchoolBucks.com to make deposits or monitor your student's meal account. The new mySchoolBucks mobile app is now available at App Store and Google Play. If you have questions regarding the school lunch program, you can call the school offices or talk to the food services representative at (573) 696-5512, Ext. 336. |

The playground has fresh mulch, the hallways are sparkling with new wax, breakfast and lunch menus have been printed, and the teachers are busy making name tags and decorating their rooms for a new school year. On August 19, all our preparations will be complete as we welcome our 250 primary students for the first day of school!
Thanks to all of you who completed registration online and either brought, faxed, or emailed your current proof of residence. If you have not had a chance to do this and you need assistance, please call and we will help.
This year, we welcome to our staff Jane Hian (first grade), Kristen Cash (music), Ally Kassebaum (ECSE preschool), and Victoria Vroman (paraprofessional). Kylie Trenhaile (special education) and Nicki Klasing (Title I reading) will be coming to the primary from the intermediate building. Each of these educators has much to offer, and we are so pleased they will be working with us in the primary school.
Classroom teachers will have information about the year and the school routine to share with you at Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 15 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. We hope to see you all then!!

Welcome Back! Our staff looks forward to meeting the students and parents on Meet the Teacher Night, Aug 15, 5:30-7 p.m. We will have a short parent orientation meeting at 7 p.m. in the Intermediate Commons for incoming Second Grade Parents only. This will give you an opportunity to meet the principal and ask any questions you may have in order to make the transition from Primary to Intermediate School smooth!

High school registration was a success. The students came in excited to see what classes they have this school year and what friends they have in class. They signed up for parking spots and lockers as they toured the freshly cleaned hallways.
This year, some changes were made to the way we have done parking passes because some of the parking spots we have used for students in the past will be lost to the new building additions. We divided up the remaining lots into senior and junior spots and sold those places on a first come first served basis. The demand for our limited parking created a waiting list situation which we will use to evaluate the needs of those students and hopefully find a place for them to park soon. As our facilities expand and our class sizes continue to grow, we will deal with this issue and look for fair and equitable solution for our students.
The first day of school (Monday, August 19) is quickly approaching and the teachers are gearing up to welcome back the students. The doors open at 7:40 a.m. and we start at 8:05 a.m. Students can still sign up for schedule changes the first few days in the guidance center. The freshman transition camp will begin on the first day during their advisory time and they will have different speakers each day regarding all the things they will need to survive at Hallsville High School. Friday the 23rd will be the annual freshman trip to Scattering Forks in Mexico, MO to work on team building and getting acclimated to high school.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with your children this school year.
