One of my favorite things as a high school principal is hearing the conversations of our seniors during the weeks prior to graduation. These  conversations of the soon-to-be graduates always interest me, whether it be in the hallway, cafeteria, at an event, or in the classrooms. So many are talking about the excitement of going on to college and moving out of their house - experiencing living on their own. Many of us were that way at that age, and often, didn't realize how good we had it at the time. My advice to our seniors: shortly you will find out the world does not owe you a living, but you do owe the world something. You owe your time, energy, and talent. You are important and you are needed. You have been trained very well along your journey and your next chapter is beginning. Do not sit around and wait for somebody to do something someday. That someday is now and that somebody is you. Good luck to you, and thank you to all parents, guardians, teachers, coaches, and others who helped these seniors become the individuals they are.
