FBLA Students Quality for Nationals

The Hallsville High School chapter of the FBLA competed in the State contests and have some students who qualified for National competition this summer.   The following students placed at the State competitions and will advance on to Nationals.

3rd Grade Dance-Off
The 10th Annual 3rd Grade Dance-Off is Wednesday, May 15 from 12:30-2:30 PM  in the Intermediate Gym. Come watch these amazing 3rd graders showing off their moves from the classic 1950's.
 
HHS Quiz Bowl State Bound

April 24th, Hallsville R-IV Schools hosted the Sectional round of the Class 3 MSHSAA State Championship Series for Quiz Bowl. This was a best two-out-of-three series between the District 7 Champion (Hallsville) and the District 8 Champion (Eldon). This was also the same pairings for the Tri-County Conference Championship on March 2nd.

Hallsville won both the first and second rounds (600-140 and 530-120 respectively) and will now advance to the State Championship Tournament for the second year in a row.

Blood Drive
The FBLA & FCCLA hosted a blood drive last Thursday. In total, 43 people were presented to donate blood and 8 were first time donors! Thank you community, staff, and students for your support!  Click here to view a few more pictures.

 

 

Fine Arts Booster Fundraiser
The deadline for the spring fundraiser for the Fine Arts Boosters has been extended to May 3rd.  Orders can be placed between now and the end of April.  Click here for the order form.  Checks should be made payable to FAB (Fine Arts Boosters) and may be sent in with the order form to Sally in the high school office, or Mrs. Williamson in the high school, or Mrs. Love in the middle school. The orders will be distributed at school.
Summer School Deadline Approaching
Summer school will be June 3rd through June 28th. The registration packets are available at each building office or you can click here to download the appropriate form. The deadline for open enrollment is Tuesday, April 30th.  The forms can be printed or filled out online and submitted via email.  For more information, call Mr. Brad Blakemore at (573) 696-5512 Ext. 322.
School Dress Code Reminder

The weather is finally getting warmer! As a result, we want to offer a friendly reminder of our dress code policies as outlined in each building's student handbook. This document can be found at our webpage, www.hallsville.org, and then choosing the appropriate school building. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Outdoor School Available
Hallsville students have the chance to learn outdoor skills such as outdoor cooking, rappelling, kayaking, fly fishing, camping, and more as part of the National Outdoor Recreation & Conservation School.  The school, "WOW" (Wonders of Wildlife) is offered in Columbia on May 10th and 11th through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.  For more information, visit their website or call 800-334-6946.

Primary School News

Our staff held two kindergarten screening days this week. If you have a friend or relative with a child who will be eligible for kindergarten this fall who has not yet registered, please ask them to contact the office in the primary school as soon as possible.

First graders will be completing the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please help our students do their best by insuring a good night's rest on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Due to days missed for inclement weather, school will be in session on Friday, May 3. Looking ahead to the month of May, please mark your calendars for our end-of-the-year celebration on May 21, 5-7 p.m.. More details will be coming soon!

May 7 - PAT Big Truck Night
May 10 - No School
May 16 - Primary Fun Run
May 21 - Primary Celebration (5-7 p.m.)
