To raise awareness about the critical need to provide every child with a quality public education, Hallsville R-IV is hosting various events as part of the  American Education Week celebration, November 12-16, 2012.

These activities will be part of a nationwide effort to draw attention to American Education Week's tagline, "Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility." American Education Week presents all Americans with an opportunity to honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. The week long celebration spotlights the different people who are critical in building great public schools for the nation's 50 million K-12 students. Hallsville American Education Week's celebration days include:

• Writing and drawings about student's favorite part of school
• Students writing thank you notes to people involved in the school system
• Snacks and treats for teachers from the Community Teachers Association (CTA). 

Each building will be participating in the following "dress up" days:

• Monday: PROUD of our Veterans and the USA - dress in  Red/White/Blue colors.

• Tuesday: Hallsville Students are WILD about learning - dress wacky and wild.

• Wednesday: Hallsville Students  are SUCCESSFUL - dress like your future job or profession.

The high school and middle school will also observe:

• Thursday: Hallsville Students and Schools are SUPER -  dress as a super hero.
• Friday: Hallsville Students are PROUD of their school- dress in purple and gold.
