Greetings,

Fall is always a busy time here at FSM, and this year is no exception! As you know, our daughter Ella Rose Carlucci was born on September 2nd, and we couldn't be more thrilled with her! Thanks to everyone for all of your kind words of support and for sharing in our enthusiasm and joy.

In other news, coming up right around the corner is Bring-a-Friend Week and then our festive Halloween Howl. In November, we have a very special workshop on improvisation, plus our semi-annual Faculty Recital

Fall is also a busy time for local concerts and performances. We've highlighted four community events below, many of which are free and family-friendly.

Enjoy!

After all the practice and study on your instrument, learning to improvise and to play with others can be some of the most rewarding musical experiences. Matt Oestreicher and Joe Gray from Your Time To Shine! will be presenting an interactive workshop that focuses on these skills and more. The workshop will involve audience participation, so be prepared to play along with us if you would like.

We will take you on a journey through musical styles and show you what gives those styles their characteristic sound. We will also demonstrate how anyone can improvise. Come and share in the joy of music making with us!

"Your Time To Shine" is an exciting new variety show for aspiring performers at Bridgeport's Bijou Theater.

Ms. Hewitt is one of those rare musicians who seem to get something into their heads and hearts and find it at their fingertips instantaneously ...
