Happy Valentine's Day!

We hope everyone is finally starting to thaw out from this past weekend's snowstorm of epic proportions!  
While it's hard to think of summer with 3 feet of snow on the ground, we are happy to announce our 2013 Summer Camp offerings! Read on below for info on our exciting camps. 
You will also find details on our next open mic night and our first ever faculty recital. Here are some of the important dates at a glance: 
  • School Closed: Mon, Feb 18 (President's Day)
  • Open Mic Night: Fri, March 1st
  • Faculty Recital: Sun, March 24th
  • Spring Recital: Sat, June 15th

Our First Annual Spring Recital will be held the afternoon of Saturday, June 15th, in the lovely auditorium at the Pequot Library in Southport. 
More info on participating in this formal recital will be announced at a later date. For now, please mark your calendars so you don't miss out on this special event!

Summer Camp!  


Expand your musical horizons this summer while having fun with your friends! 
We offer unique full or half day programs for ages 3-17, as well as a series of one day, "mini" camps. 
Summer camps include:   
  • Music Immersion
  • Rock Band
  • Simply Music Rhapsody
  • Build-Your-Own-Ukulele
  • Songwriting
  • Intro to Guitar
  • And more!

Student Open Mic Night

Our first open mic may have been small, but it was a big success and a lot of fun for everyone involved! 
We're looking forward to our next open mic night in just a few weeks:
  • Date: Friday, March 1st 
  • Time: 6:30-7:30 pm
  • Location: Recital Room
  • Eligibility: All ages 
  • RSVP: By Wed, 2/27 via email (indicate total number attending)
Students may perform 1-2 pieces in any genre or their own compositions. They may perform either solo or with 
a friend or family member. 
This casual event is all about becoming more comfortable as a performer, so be creative and have some fun!
Faculty Recital 
Students and their families are invited to join us for a special event on Sunday, March 24th at 3:00 pm
in our Recital Room.
Our talented faculty members will be in the spotlight, performing a diverse and entertaining program that is sure to inspire us all!
To attend, RSVP by email by Monday, March 18th.

Benefiting "Music for Youth"

Alex Beyer, the young and talented Fairfield native, will perform the Mozart Sonata K310, the Schumann Sonata Op. 22 & Stravinsky's Piano Transcription of Petrouchka.

Donations are welcome and will benefit the Music for Youth program.

American Chamber Orchestra
Winter Concert
Saturday, February 23rd - 8:00 pm
First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield

Celebrating their 10th anniversary season, 
the American Chamber Orchestra is a dedicated group of amateur musicians under founding Music Director, Christopher James Hisey.
Their Winter Concert features Mozart's Overture to the Magic Flute, Launy Grondahl's Trombone Concerto with Dr. Brian Thacker, Glinka's Overture to Russlan & Ludmilla, & Mendelssohn's Symphony #5: Reformation

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door for a suggested donation ($15 adults, $10 under age 18).

Shining Stars Open Mic Night 
Sunday, February 17th - 5:00-7:00 pm
Two Boots, Bridgeport, CT

A popular Open Mic Night in the community, specifically for performers age 17 and under! Hosted by one of FSM's very own students, Amber Schaper.
