Back in the 1930`s Woody Guthrie, the legendary folksinger, was scheduled to sing during an organizing drive in his home state of Oklahoma. Woody was invited to play at a meeting at the local union hall and the day before organizers passed out leaflets at the plant gate announcing the event.
At the meeting Woody gets up and begins tuning his guitar. From the back of the hall some big guy stands up waving a leaflet in his hand. "Hey buddy," he shouts, "you know what I'm going to do with this leaflet? I'm going to wipe my ass with it."
Immediately, a couple of the union guys go to grab him but Woody says, "that's ok, fellas, leave him be. Some people need to get this information any way they can."
