Chicago Teachers Union President

Karen Lewis

"We have changed the conversation

 in this country."

Karen Lewis, president of the Chicago Teachers Union, announced on October 13th that she would not pursue the nomination for mayor of Chicago.  The 61-year-old union leader decided not to pursue a bid for mayor following her diagnosis with a serious health condition.  Last week Karen underwent five hours of emergency surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and  she  is  scheduled to undergo chemotherapy and radiation.

Our hearts are with you Karen.

Get well soon!
