Support Our Returning Missioners

After two years of mission in San Nicolas, Nicaragua, Sarah Rich & David Wiegner are preparing to come back to the States. At this point they expect to be in the Philadelphia area in September and would appreciate any help making the transition -- with school, housing, jobs etc.
They can be reached at [email protected] or [email protected]
Thanks for your support!

Planning for the Future

VMM-USA is in the midst of an important strategic planning process and we will be seeking feedback from our members over the summer. Joyce Mallory, a facilitator from the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee will help us determine our future goals and objectives. This process will include an email survey and phone interviews of some of our members. If you are contacted please help us by providing your thoughts and ideas.

Thanks for all you do for VMM!

Welcome Joe!

On July 1st, Joe Connelly will join our VMM family as the new Mission Coordinator in Nicaragua. His primary responsibilities will include assisting our missioners when they arrive and accompanying them throughout their mission experience.

Joe is originally from New Jersey and he has a degree in Religious Studies from Siena College. He lived in an intentional Franciscan Community which solidified his commitment to social justice and service to the poor. Joe's life was transformed through several immersion trips to Central America in college. In 2004 he participated in the Center for Global Education semester abroad and after graduating in 2006 he returned to Central America to work for the Center for Global Education, a position he held for seven years. Joe has considered Nicaragua to be home since then.

He has been married to his wife Eliett since 2008 and their twin daughters Claire and Grace were born in April of 2014. During his time in Nicaragua, Joe has worked for Free the Children and the Batahola Norte Cultural Center. He also works as an trip leader and guide for delegations that focus on faith, spirituality, and the Nicaraguan experience.
