A Lifetime of Service
Did you know that VMM missioners keep on giving, long after their 2 years of service are over?
Some return to school for an advanced degree in social work, medicine, counseling, environmental science or ministry. Others go to work with nonprofit organizations, public services, or school systems serving the Latino community. After a brief break, some even return to the project in Central America where they had been volunteering.
Many stay involved with VMM. They help with recruiting new missioners, orientation, join the Board of Directors or one of the committees, do parish appeals, write articles for Bridges or in some other way.
Whether working or volunteering with a community organization, teaching, raising a family, or leading a solidarity delegation to Central America, they continue to embrace the whole world with the same values they brought to their mission work: compassion, humility, perseverance, love and a commitment to serve others. In short, they continue to do God's work.
Please consider supporting VMM.
Your gift will help our volunteers in Central America - - begin a life of service dedicated to the struggle for justice. We can assure you that your gift will keep on giving because our VMs will keep on giving, long, long after they return home.

Tuesday Reflection Anniversary!
Traditionally Tuesdays have been a special day for prayer and spiritual reflection for VMM. For the past 11 years, Cecily Mills has sent a reflection to our members every Tuesday and this week marks her
500th reflection!
Cecily is a returned missioner who served in Chahal, Guatemala from 1996-2001 and currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta. Her reflections have included personal experiences, the current situation in Central America, church history and spiritual resources. We are very grateful for her passion to mission and her commitment to VMM. To read her current post or any of her previous reflections click here:
Cecily appreciates feedback on her reflections and can be contacted at
